SUMMARY
On May 3, 1964, France sent an expedition to conquer Mt. Everest. Two seasoned climbers, Esglace and Esperance, who had already triumphed over 200 summits, confronted the Kakamouse and Kalou chains, an authentic accumulation of pinnacles of ice, crevices and rocks that have defeated the most prestigious expeditions.
