SUMMARY
Raoul Vignerte, a French teacher, is hired as a tutor at the court of a small principality in Central Europe. There he discovers a historical mystery: the husband of Princess Aurora was assassinated by his brother, the Grand Duke regent. Vignerte shares his discovery with the Princess. They fall in love. The mobilization of 1914 separates the two lovers. The criminal kills himself. Vignerte is killed at the front. |
