SUMMARY
A daring modern retelling of Abbé Prevost’s classic 18th century novel, “Manon Lescaut.” In the moral confusion of the Liberation of France, young Manon prostitutes herself and corrupts a young Resistance fighter, Robert, who becomes a black marketer to satisfy her need for luxury. When Robert, on the run for murder, joins a group of Holocaust survivors illegally bound for Palestine, she unhesitatingly accompanies him — they go to their deaths in the desert.
