SUMMARY
The film charts the life and spiritual odyssey of one of the great modern painters purely through use of his paintings. Vincent Van Gogh’s genius and significance are recognised today, but in his own time he had to struggle terribly, in poverty and to almost universal indifference, in his attempts to render his glimpses of the absolute through his paintings.
